Harrison Wipes has a fantastic opportunity available for a Senior Shift Team Leader to join the team based in Romford, Essex. Joining on a full time permanent basis, you will receive a salary of £27,000-£29,000 per annum depending on experience.

As our Senior Shift Team Leader, you will lead the team and help maintain the Company’s production activities, whilst meeting customer service and quality. You will provide operator support  within the factory, including material preparation, job pack preparation, team member guidance and duty allocation and key holder duties.

Key responsibilities of the Senior Shift Team Leader:

- To not only ensure that the factory meets its legal and Company obligations with respect to safety, environmental and hygiene factors, but to also be a key driver in improving performance in these areas. Ensuring any unauthorised or unsafe actions are stopped immediately.

- Take hour by hour responsibility for all aspects of production and the production team. Including but not limited to:

- Ensuring health and safety of all reports at all times

- Allocation of duties

- Maximising production output

- Preparing material, labels and documentation for the machines

- Assisting in changeovers

- Working with the site engineer to rectify production equipment problems

- Key holder with responsibility of opening up and securing the business at the end of the day

- Assist production team members with production issues as and when they arise and carry out staff appraisals

- Assist the Quality Auditor with any quality related production issues.

- Start up and shut down procedures

- Drive improvement initiatives that ensure that the factory meets its key performance targets as outlined by the Board of Directors.

- Work with/assist the Production Planner, Stock Administrator and Factory Manager.

- Identify and drive opportunities for improvement using modern manufacturing techniques such as Lean, 5S, total productive maintenance, efficient workflow and workplace organisation.

- Work with and develop your team to achieve world-class standards and key performance targets.

Secondary responsibility

- To support the day to day activities of the maintenance team, Production Planner, Supply Chain Coordinator and the Factory Manager as and when necessary.

- Help develop the skills of the team leaders.

- Develop operator skills and knowledge to cover for holidays and absence of the Team Leader.

Skills, knowledge and experience required by the Senior Shift Team Leader:

Essential:

- GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths

- At least 3 years proven experience as a team leader in a manufacturing environment.

- First hand involvement and experience of the introduction of world class techniques using the latest methodology.

Desirable:

- Qualification in Supervisory Management

- Experience in wiping cloth manufacture and supply
