Warehouse Operative/Trade Counter Assistant

Supac Ltd has been actively involved in the manufacture and distribution of batteries for 70 years.

Our extensive range of products includes car, commercial and leisure batteries as well as specialist batteries for the marine, mobility, security and medical sectors.

We are now seeking a Warehouse Operative/Trade Counter Assistant, for our distribution facility in Merthyr Tydfil.

The role:

• Loading and unloading of deliveries;
• Booking deliveries in and out;
• Checking all goods out, to ensure the correct products are loaded for delivery;
• Operating forklift trucks and counterbalance equipment;
• Labelling/Replenishing stock;
• Assisting with the monitoring of stock levels and stock checks;
• Providing quotations and technical advice to our customers;
• Taking orders over the phone and conducting sales on the trade counter;
• Handling cash and credit card transactions, working with our computer system to finalise customer transactions;
• General housekeeping duties in the warehouse and trade counter to ensure a clean and safe working environment;
• Occasional van driving.

The person:

• Ideally, has worked in a distribution/wholesale organisation;
• Current or expired forklift licence;
• Experience of the battery industry preferred, but not essential;
• Friendly and professional, with excellent customer service skills and attention to detail;
• Strong IT skills to include experience of Sage 500 software;
• Prepared to roll up their sleeves and carry out other duties as required.

Further Information:

• Salary dependent upon experience;
• Hours of work: Monday – Friday, 8:15am to 5:00pm;
• Staff parking;
• 20 days' annual leave per year, plus statutory holidays.
