Our client is recruiting on behalf of a pioneering charity that is dedicated to ending domestic violence and abuse. They are now looking for a Women’s Safety Officer to join them on a part time basis.

The Role: 

As a Women’s Safety Officer, you will provide safety-focused support to the partners and ex-partners of those who attend the charity’s domestic violence prevention programme. 

In this key role, you will offer support and information to women about their rights, as well as providing information on other resources available to them. 

Specifically, you will: 

- Provide support, both face-to-face and via the telephone 
- Deliver safety planning sessions and mediation services for families 
- Liaise with external agencies to ensure that service users are fully supported 
- Take part in casework and risk review meetings with colleagues 
- Assist with presentations or workshops 
- Help to improve the community’s response to domestic abuse by working with criminal and civil justice agencies, community members and victims 
- Perform a range of administrative tasks 

About You: 

To be considered as a Women’s Safety Officer, you will need experience of the following: 

- Working with women on domestic abuse and/or violence issues 
- Providing one-to-one support and advice to women 
- Administration and managing your own workload 
- Assessing the safety needs of women experiencing domestic abuse 

Ideally, you’ll have experience of working with social workers and other professionals from a range of statutory and voluntary organisations. Experience in a related area, such as substance misuse, child protection or family support, would also be an advantage. 

Other organisations may call this role Safety Officer, Support Worker, Domestic Abuse Support Worker, Domestic Violence Support Worker, Family Support Worker, Family Support Co-ordinator or Social Care Worker. 

This is a part time role, working 21 hours per week between the hours of 8:00 – 22:00 throughout the week. Occasional weekend working may be required, as will participation in an on-call rota. 

Please note, the successful candidate will be required to undergo an advanced DBS check, which will be arranged by the employer/our client.
