CAD Technical Assistant
We specialise in the manufacture and supply of high quality glass balconies, balustrades, curved doors and decking to both the private and commercial markets.
We currently have a great opportunity for an intelligent and technically minded person to join our Technical Department as a CAD Technical Assistant.
Responsibilities:
- Liaise with customers confidently regarding projects
- Produce drawings to customer specifications
- Follow up drawings for customer sign-off prior to manufacturing
- Purchasing
- Monitor purchases and manufacture of orders
- Liaise with Manufacturing/Install Department
- ‘Take off’ of materials from plans and schematics of tender documents
- Requirements:
- 2D CAD experience required
- Able to understand and apply technical information to assist customers in finalising and approving technical drawings
- Able to take responsibility for own projects and push these through to completion within expected timeframes
- Able to take full measured surveys and transfer data into technical drawings
- Good computer skills in MS Office
- Previous experience of working in a contracts environment and an understanding of construction related terminology would be an advantage
- Must have excellent communication skills with a customer–oriented approach, confidence in telephone manner and face to face meetings
- Good organisation skills
- Polite, friendly and professional manner
We use our own database and CAD software in addition to the use of AutoCAD LT program.
Working hours are Monday - Friday 8.30am to 5.30pm.
Your own transport would be an advantage as local transport links are very limited.
