HR ADVISOR/MANAGER

£26K - £30K

Hours Mon – Thu 8:30 am – 5:30 pm Fri 2 pm

We are seeking a suitably experienced HR Advisor/Manager, preferably from a manufacturing background, to join our well- established client, employing over 200 staff, and shortly to move to purposely designed premises. You may be an experienced Human Resource Assistant ready to take the next step up the ladder, and equally ready for an enjoyable challenge. Your HR Manager role will be to provide professional support to this manufacturing business in all HR related matters, ensuring that all departments are fully compliant with policies, procedures and all relevant employment legislation. As the company's HR professional, you will be the first point of contact for all aspects of HR, delivering consistent high quality, clear employee relations advice to managers and provide coaching and support where necessary.

KEY HUMAN RESOURCE ADVISOR/MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work closely with all departments, increasingly in a consultancy role, assisting line managers to understand and implement policies and procedures
  • Promote equality and diversity as part of the culture of the organisation
  • Recruit staff, write job descriptions and person specifications, prepare job adverts, check application forms, shortlist, interview and select candidates
  • Develop and implement policies on working conditions, performance management equal opportunities, disciplinary procedures and absence management
  • Maintain employee records and HR documentation
  • Conduct exit interviews
  • Dealing with grievances and implement disciplinary procedures
  • Develop HR planning strategies which consider immediate and long-term staff requirements
  • Plan and delivering training – including staff inductions
  • Analyse training needs in conjunction with departmental managers
  • Other duties as required to ensure the business is fully supported by the HR function

PERSONAL SPECIFICATION HR MANAGER/ADVISOR:

  • Relevant qualification or experience (CIPD preferred or part CIPD qualified)
  • Discreet, friendly and diplomatic but firm
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • Excellent management abilities, results driven
  • A methodical and pro-active thinker
  • Up to date knowledge of UK HR regulations
  • Proven track record of making a difference
  • A good influencer and negotiator to implement personnel policies.
