Programme Leader - Law and Politics

Salary: £21,784 - £35,105 per annum plus excellent benefits

Hours: FT 37 hours per week (1.0 FTE)

Location: Exeter

Contract: Permanent

An exceptional opportunity has arisen to teach in the outstanding Humanities faculty at Exeter College. We are looking for passionate and dedicated teachers who have taught either Law or Government and Politics previously. The faculty offers two very successful A level qualifications in these subjects (Eduqas Law and Edexcel Government and Politics), and are looking to start a new Level 3 Btec certificated course in Law due to demand in the subject.

Applicants will be considered who can demonstrate a successful history of delivery of one of these subjects, but the ideal candidates will be flexible and willing to use their expertise and skills to deliver on both subjects. We are looking for a full time Programme Leader, but applications will be considered from those looking for significant fractions/job shares (please give details in your statement about hours you are available to work).

The successful candidate will be passionate about further education and keen to support the development of the curriculum, particularly in light of the new A Level reforms. Experience of, or a willingness to support, Btec cert/subdip Law would be an advantage. You will join a large team of dedicated subject specialists who are committed to ensuring the delivery of high quality teaching and learning experiences. The ALPs A level value added scores for Law and Politics last year were extremely strong (top 10% nationally and high grades of 69% and 78%). We are therefore looking for someone with the skills and dedication to contribute to our existing excellent teaching team.

In addition to teaching, you will be expected to offer pastoral support as a tutor and be able to motivate our learners to achieve their full potential. You will need to have a flexible approach, initiative and excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.

If you have the drive and passion and are committed to delivering outstanding teaching and learning then we would like to hear from you.

The closing date for receipt of completed application is Thursday 8th March 2018 at midnight

Successful applicants will be required to undertake an enhanced disclosure by the DBS.

We do not accept CV’s, no agencies please.

Exeter College is committed to promoting equality of opportunity and access for all, irrespective of age, background, race, gender, religion, ability, disability or sexuality. We welcome applications for employment from the whole community.
