Job Summary Senior Business Analyst with a solid Agile background. You will beworking on projects transforming core systems into flexible capabilitiesthat will enable the business to realise its mission to lead the way inadvancing science, technology and health. You will be part of one of thecompanys key technology functions, playing a pivotal role inidentifying, analysing and challenging requirements before translatingthem into Agile User Stories. You will be initially responsible for amulti-year project, shaping requirements, acting as a proxy productowner and managing stakeholders alongside the tech lead, project anddevelopment managers. We are looking for proactive individuals whoclearly understand the importance of Business Analysis within AgileFrameworks and are able to make a meaningful difference to softwaredelivery. You will be operating closely with a wide range of technical andbusiness stakeholders. As such, impeccable communication skills acrossdifferent levels and through different channels are an absolute must. Experience and Education: 5+ years of IT business analyst experience Publishing / Media industry experience would be an advantage BS/BA degree in relevant discipline or equivalent experiencerequired; ISEB-qualified Business Analyst also an advantage Demonstrable ability to author Agile User Stories, utilise INVESTprinciples, write BDD scenarios. Key Responsibilities: Working with business and technical stakeholders, convert high leveluser stories into clean, meaningful stories that conform to INVESTprinciples and support BDD scenarios Break down the problem domain and challenge existing thinking toproduce documented requirements that deliver flexible andforward-looking business capabilities and processes Manage requirements that transcend multiple systems, delivery teamsand stakeholders Work closely with business and technical stakeholders across multiplelocations (occasionally attending meetings and workshops at othercompany offices) Act as proxy product owner for day to day development team support Actively manage the Product Backlog and participate in prioritisationand planning Own the scoping and requirements gathering for assigned projects Facilitate requirement workshops with stakeholders of variousbackgrounds Maintain stakeholder expectations, inform on progress and raiseappropriate issues to project and development managers as necessary Work between onsite and distributed development teams (off shore /near shore) and business to ensure requirements are being met Follow established business processes, protocols, and qualitystandards in the development and deployment of complex solutions Develop trusted advisor relationship with senior stakeholdersthrough effective communication and efficient, quality execution onprojects Perform analysis on existing systems; identifying options forpotential solutions and assess for both technical and businesssuitability Share expertise and experience with less experienced team members All other duties as assigned Technical Skills: Write effective user stories including BDD scenarios Experience using a recognized development methodology e.g. Agile,SCRUM, and KANBAN Proficient in the use of JIRA and Confluence as well as MicrosoftOffice products Strong communication skills that allow for effective communicationacross all levels of the organization Strong facilitation skills; ability to facilitate workshops Written communication skills including process documentation Experience in gathering business requirements and translating theminto fine grained user stories on complex or large projects Broad understanding of software development methodologies, platforms,tools, and languages IT research, software analysis, and design skills Business requirements gathering Understanding of the role of BA in the full software development lifecycle Exposure to any of the following tools/technologies (or similar) wouldbe helpful: Gherkin / Cucumber Web Services (SOAP/REST) and APIs Relational databases, Java, XML, JSON, JSON-LD Cloud Technologies (AWS) Join Our Team As part of our team, you can help shape the future of knowledge.
