YMCA continuously seeks to develop our youth and community activities, ensuring that our various services work in an integrated and responsive way. Our youth and community activities are themed by general youth work, project based, mobile and mentoring. YMCA aims to ensure that each young person can progress between our specialisms in each location and, where possible, each neighbourhood.
We are currently recruiting for a Wellbeing Worker to join the Watford Youth team and support the Lead Youth Worker to help with the youth team’s delivery of centre based youth work with young people aged 11-25, by bringing a greater focus on mental wellbeing to all activities. This will include up to 3 evening sessions and 3 schools per week, with the focus being mentoring and providing support in the aspect of mental health and general wellbeing.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of young people, have a relevant qualification in Youth Work/Mental Health/Wellbeing/Mentoring, and have proven experience of street-based outreach, mentoring young people and working collaboratively with various agencies supporting young people; as well as knowledge and experience of the potential barriers that young people face and providing support to young people from a variety of backgrounds.
*This role requires a full driving license and ability to travel between YMCA sites
