Your Responsibilities:
GSK Consumer Healthcare is split almost equally between over-the-counter (OTC) medicines and fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) brands dedicated to healthcare, across our four categories of Wellness, Oral health, Nutrition and Skin health.
Our products/brands are those that consumers trust and come back to, time and time again. Aqua Fresh, Sensodyne and Corsodyl reach people in more than 150 countries around the world, helping them to improve their health and wellbeing.
To enable us to strengthen and further develop our portfolio we are currently seeking a Project Engineer lead to join the Tooth Brush and Devices team based at our site in Weybridge.
Reporting to the Device Director in this newly created position, you will demonstrate hands on technical leadership and project management skills to work with key stakeholders such as Suppliers, Innovation Partners, Design, Procurement, R&D & Supply Chain to lead our technical development teams in delivering complex electro mechanical projects from conception through to market.
Key accountabilities
• Lead product development activities to coordinate internal specialists and external partners
• Design and develop products which meet regulatory requirements, GSK CH quality standards, aligned with GSK CH E2E process, systems and ensure compliance and 'right first time'
• Ensure consumer at the heart of the product development
• Ensure clear technical device lead from project initiation to launch, including consumer understanding, ideation, design lock, specifications, development reports through to manufacturability
• Make sure prototypes with a clear purpose are delivered using best practice product development techniques
• Plan robust evaluation of prototypes to ensure development issues are identified before key project milestones
• Be seen as key point of contact and expertise for device innovation, electronics and mechanics

Why You?Basic qualifications:
To be considered for this role you will be educated to degree level in a relevant engineer field (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial) and will have significant experience within a consumer electronics, domestic appliances or FMCG devices or similar.
Preferred qualifications:
In additional to this you will be able to demonstrate:
• Capability to work at the earliest stages of product development when the project may not be fully defined
• An understanding of the interface of consumer needs and technology
• An Understanding of connected devices and relevant technologies
• Experience of automated high speed assembly, hand assembly and semi-automated assembly
• Experience and Involvement with European and Far East production sites
• An understanding of: electronics manufacturing techniques, injection moulding, metal fabrication processes and joining processes
• Have a good understanding of developing products which will meet these requirements: CE marked, UL listed, FCC compliance, RoHS, WEE, Battery directive
• Experience of developing medical device products would be advantageous
