Business Development Manager (OTE £60K) 
Home Based (covering the UK)

The Company: 

Our client is an automotive product and accessory provider with over 100 years’ experience. Their products enhance the automotive experience, pioneer new technologies and break new ground in terms of innovation. 

Due to exponential growth within the market, they are now seeking a Business Development Manager to join their team and work throughout the UK to create business opportunities for the electric vehicle sector.

Joining this market leader in the automotive product and accessory industry, you will have the chance to take on a brand-new role where all the infrastructure and products are in place to enable you to do what you do best – sell great products. 

You’ll be steering this new business unit and taking these German manufactured products to market. Routes to market are planned, subsidiaries are in place, our client is just waiting for the right person to take them over the line and make a success of their business in the UK. 

Your Role: 

As a Business Development Manager, you will be tasked with driving sales of our client’s innovative electric vehicle home charging solutions. 

This is a ‘go to market’ role that will see you taking our client’s charging solutions to market within the UK. The company is already highly successful in Germany and the Netherlands and you will be expected to first mirror and then eclipse successes experienced there. 

Your role will include: 

- Developing market entry strategies and sales channels 
- Securing government funding 
- Setting up supplier networks 
- Delivering a two year road map of business success 
- Undertaking regular travel throughout the UK and occasionally in Europe 

About You: 

To be considered as a Business Development Manager, you will need: 

- Sales experience in the automotive, technology or energy industry 
- Project and/or product management experience 
- A degree (ideally a Master’s) in a business, engineering or scientific discipline 
- A passion for electric vehicles, sustainability and new automotive technologies 
- To be a self-starter with a high degree of independence and motivation to set-up a new business 
- Strong customer acquisition skills 
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal 

Experience of working in a start-up environment would also be beneficial to your application, however, this is by no means essential. 

Other organisations may call this role Field Sales Manager, Business Unit Manager, Project Manager, Product Manager, Territory Sales Manager, Area Sales Manager, or Regional Sales Manager. 

This role would also be ideal for those who have held the role of Automotive Sales Manager, Fleet Sales Manager, Technology Sales Manager, or Energy Sales Manager.
