Assistant Accountant - Hertford Regional College

Hertford Regional College has a challenging and exciting opportunity for a dynamic Assistant Accountant to join the Finance team to deliver a timely and proactive service to the College management teams.

The role reports directly to the Finance Manager and will work on core financial tasks; key areas include monthly Management Accounts, balance sheet reconciliation and the preparation of accruals and prepayments. The role-holder will also provide support to budget holders and Executive Directors of subsidiary companies.

The ideal person for this role will need to have very strong Excel skills and proven experience of complex balance sheet reconciliations and accrual and prepayment preparation. Being able to deal with preparation and reconciliation of fixed asset schedules is desirable.

This role is able to work independently, use initiative and have the ability to respond positively and flexible to the varying priorities of this role. You will need excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be a good and resilient team player.

The successful candidate will be AAT qualified or study towards AAT or relevant qualification.
