Location: Based in Melton near Woodbridge, with travel to Lowestoft

Salary: £23,395 - £25,951 per annum

Job Type: Full Time, Initially Two Year Fixed Term Contract

This is an exciting time to join the Council's Communications Team.

After a decade of successful partnership working, the two Councils are set to combine to create a new 'super district' council for east Suffolk.

An essential part of this process will be making sure they get their message right and deliver it effectively to their many audiences, internally and externally.

With this in mind, they need a multi-talented Marketing and Communications Officer to help identify and implement marketing campaigns and promotional activities.

You will also contribute to the overall planning and development of internal and external communication activities, including media handling, as well as exploring opportunities for innovative communications through all available channels, utilising the creative use of new media channels, tools and techniques.

Educated to degree level (or equivalent), you should have a minimum of three years' experience in marketing, communications and/or public relations, with experience of effectively managing proactive and reactive communications through the news media, as well as digital/social media.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate their ability to think creatively in developing and implementing marketing campaigns. You must be politically sensitive and have a proven ability to source news stories and write/organise press releases.
