Job Title: Fork-Lift Operator

Location: St Albans

Salary: Competitive

Hours: Full time, Permanent

The Fork-lift Operator is responsible for efficiently handling of the fork-lift in lifting, moving and packing of loads. The fork-lift operator can also use the fork-lift in the packing of waste baled material.

Key Responsibilities:

• Load and vehicles with baled materials for despatch
• Stack baled material.
• Keep accurate stock records.

Main Activities of the role:

• Ensure that all lifting and manoeuvring of product is carried out in accordance with manual handling procedures.
• Operate in a safe manner complying with all H&S and environmental requirements to ensure own safety and the safety of others.
• Keep areas of work clean and tidy to ensure operational efficiency.

Key Requirements:

• A current valid Forklift Truck license
• Strong attention to detail
• Good communication skills
• Ability to multi-task and prioritise workload working in a fast moving environment
• Self-motivated and confident
• Good understanding of the company's products and quality standards
• Ability to actively employ the 'Company Values' and company policies and procedure in all areas of work

The Candidate:

Knowledge:

• Good understanding of the English Language
• A fork-lift Licence is essential.

Skills:

• Able to work well as part of a team.
• Good Communication skills.
• Ability to plan and organise work.
• Ability to accurately complete paperwork and count stock items.
• A basic understanding of H&S requirements.
• Flexible approach to duties and tasks.
