Our client is an innovative, modern arms-length housing organisation (ALMO), created in October 2005 employing approximately 540 staff and managing 11,500 properties across the borough of Stockport.

Recognised as a Sunday Times Top 100 ‘Best Places to work in the Public Sector’ employer, they have been awarded Investors in People (Gold) status and are also thrilled to have been named UK’s Top Landlord after winning the 24Housing magazine vote.

The successful Service Manager will work in partnership with five other Alliance partners to deliver the Prevention Alliance for vulnerable people within Stockport.  This is a contract post to cover a period of maternity leave for up to 1 year.

This innovative service offers holistic advice, signposting and support to vulnerable people with a wide range of needs, utilising an asset based approach where people are assessed in terms of their strengths or assets, and supported to increase their independence and resilience.  The service will also focus on increasing social capital and building community capacity and informal support mechanisms, thereby meeting a key aim of preventing, reducing or delaying the need to access formal and statutory services.

Members of the Alliance are Age UK Stockport (AUKS), FLAG, Nacro, Stockport Homes, TLC: Talk, Listen, Change (formerly known as Relate GMS) and Threshold.

The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator with a demonstrable track record of leading teams and projects. Creative, enthusiastic and determined, you will lead a large team of people from a range of organisations across the Alliance, setting clear direction for the service, establishing positive relationships and delivering results.

With proven experience of working with people, you should have excellent knowledge of the principles of preventative services and the Care Act and an in-depth knowledge of and understanding of the challenges that vulnerable adults face.

If you possess the talent and enthusiasm to succeed in this role, we would like to hear from you.

The successful applicant's appointment will be subject to satisfactory clearance by Disclosure Scotland and satisfactory enhanced employment references going back 5 years
