I am currently recruiting an experienced engineer with a background in energy consultancy for a UK market leader in the agricultural and horticultural industry.

You will deliver technical, engineering or consultancy based projects and services to clients in a team environment. You will be able to work on your own as well as collaboratively and build a support network of peers and other staff to help get the work done in the most effective and suitable way. You will deliver quality, timely and necessary work for clients as well as supporting other teams within the company.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Deliver projects and consultancy services for clients, including;

o Scoping and proposing work required

o Gathering information both from sites and remotely

o Assessing and calculating solutions to meet client need

o Preparing and delivering reports or compliance activities

o Presenting findings and concepts/ideas in both formal and informal settings

  • Be a key part of the delivery of the Technical team's portfolio of projects. This to include both the application of your own skills and expertise and drawing on your team's and other company resources
  • Provide technical advice internally in support of other functions of the company

To be considered for this role you must have:

  • A detailed understanding of energy related issues within a commercial setting and how these are overcome through the application of products or services.
  • Excellent numeracy and IT skills and communication skills
  • Leadership and team working attributes
  • At least a Bachelor's level degree in engineering or related discipline
  • At least years' professional experience, ideally in a consulting environment
  • A good knowledge and experience of the UK energy sector
  • An understanding of renewable energy systems and energy efficiency technologies in consideration of their deployment in commercial applications
  • An interest in broader energy efficiency and environmental impacts
  • An understanding of climate change mitigation measures
  • Strong quantitative analysis capability
  • Experience in working in multi-skilled teams and responsibility for junior members
  • You will need to be fluent in English

Depending on your experience, you will receive a salary of between £30,000-£40,000 together with a generous benefits package. This is a full-time post, Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week. A full current driving licence and own transport are essential.
