Role Summary

In this role, you will be responsible for driving the technology learning agenda for our employees. You will own the full value chain: identify the technology learning needs of our employees, define the digital topics in their learning curriculum, identify and establish relationships with external content providers, oversee design and roll-out of learning modules, measure impact and manage overall development investment. Over time, once the curriculum is established, we expect that your focus will shift to helping us raise the bar of the Global Design Center of Excellence.

The successful candidate will be required to:

  • Manage a team who will develop high-quality, BCG-relevant Learning Content, including eModules, Virtual Trainings, and Live Training materials;
  • Identify and curate external digital content providers and training solutions;
  • Establish and maintain relationships with vendors that can provide content and course development to meet our digital training needs;
  • Partner with the Development Training manager on content development, coherence to standards/style guide and instructional design resourcing;
  • Partner with the LAB Technology manager and the Systems team on platform standards and integration;
  • Collaborate with the Virtual Training manager on planning topics for content development, and ensure that instructional design and content writing resources are best staffed against priority topics for development;
  • Collaborate with the L&D Production Manager to ensure the successful delivery of the Learning content in its final technical form and on the LAB portal, or other portals within BCG as required;
  • Create the tools, processes and standards necessary to ensure consistency across digital learning solutions;
  • Work with Instructional designers and production team to pilot new forms of content;
  • Manage the curation process for digital content, including evaluation of the current offering and proposal of upgrades / replacements as appropriate;
  • Create and manage a professional development plan for the team, focused on building instructional design expertise and tailored to individual needs; and
  • Help plan live team meetings and organise and facilitate team calls.

Occasional travel to our worldwide BCG offices will be required

Mandatory job requirements

The successful candidate must have all of the following key skills, education, experience and competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Mathematics, or other related field;
  • Experience leading agile working teams; 
  • Significant experience in leading instructional design projects or training design and management;
  • Relevant experience in digital, technology or software training;
  • Proven experience in the design, creation and evaluation of in-person or computer-based Learning content, ideally in a virtual setting,;
  • Familiarity with the needs of consulting staff;
  • Experience in an international professional services organization;
  • Team leadership experience required;
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Office (particularly Excel and PowerPoint);
  • Strong English language oral and written communication skills;
  • Strong management skills, including leading a diverse, global team of professionals virtually;
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to pick up a wide range of BCG frameworks and concepts rapidly;
  • Excellent project management skills, including the ability to multi-task across projects and teams while ensuring timely, high quality delivery;
  • Ability to focus on both the big picture and on details;
  • Flexibility and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced business environment;
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build credibility fast;
  • Ability to work in a team effectively and partner across multiple functions with all levels of employees;
  • Ability to take initiative and follow through with a passion for high quality work;
  • A service-oriented and positive team player;
  • Must be able to perform successfully in a fast-paced, intellectually intense, service-oriented environment;
  • Must be able to interpret rules and guidelines flexibly to enhance the business and in keeping with BCG’s values and culture; and
