Yardman / Yard Operative

We are looking for a Yardman/ Yard Operative for our Bourton On The Water Branch.

The client is a market leading builders merchants.

You will support the branch by loading and unloading delivery vehicles, this job requires someone with a forklift truck licence. Experience of working with similar product groups is important as the role will involve some Sales Counter support. You must be a neat and tidy worker, enthusiastic about giving customer satisfaction, and have the ability to work unsupervised, as well as being part of a busy team. You will participate in the effective and efficient running of our Branch. This will involve maintaining the best level of customer service to both new and existing customers.  

We are looking for a passionate individual with strong organisation skills and can communicate effectively to deliver a professional service.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required

• Customer Focused
• Knowledge of current Health & Safety legislation
• Good communication skills
• Driving License (essential)
• Forklift truck licence

Key Results Areas

• Ensure customer service is delivered to a consistently high standard.
• Ensure the Branch presentational standards are maintained at a high standard.
• Assist in maintaining the Health & Safety policy and ensuring that it is always observed.
• Ensure accurate checking on all stock deliveries.
• Ensure high standards of yard / warehouse security.
• Ensure all the relevant vehicle and FLT safety checks are carried out and correctly documented with defects reported immediately.
• Ensure the efficient use of the delivery vehicles and that the correct procedures are adhered to in respect of the despatch paperwork and cash collection. 
• Ensure customer service is delivered to a consistently high standard.
