New opportunity not to be missed! Ecolab have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Controls Engineer to join their team based in Fawley. You will join us on a full time, permanent basis and will receive a competitive salary of £35,000 - £45,000 per annum plus excellent benefits.

The Role

As our Controls Engineer you will be responsible for maintaining computer application support (FOXI/A) for ongoing manufacture and new processes/facilities. Other duties will include:

- Maintaining the Ametek alarm system

- Generating a Venture Philosophy Statement (VPS) for minor capital projects relating to the DCS

- Leading on controls projects and assists the Process Engineer on the implementation of larger projects

- Providing controls engineering input for HAZOP / COMAH / MOCC

- Raising maintenance work orders for minor modifications.

- Identifying opportunities to reduce costs

- Part of the Duty Manager rota

Additional responsibilities may be developed with experience on the plant

- Able to cover technical aspects of Technical Leader role.

- Prepares operating procedures/instructions for new processes and/or equipment. Provides training for the process crews in this in conjunction with the Production Manager

- Provides technical assistance to the process crews

- Assists the Operations Support Group in resolving off-specification batches and the improvement of product quality

Our ideal Controls Engineer:

- An appropriate degree in controls, electrical or chemical engineering.

- 5+ years related experience in controls and instrumentation, preferably in the chemical industry.

- Strong computer literacy and computer programming skills. HLBC, C++, Visual Basic preferred

- Effective communication skills.

- Ability to coordinate analysis and reporting.

- Ability to manage multiple priorities.

- Experience working in cross-functional teams.

- Ability to work unsupervised either individually or as part of a team to accomplish projects
