Our client a national waste to Energy Company based in Morden is currently looking for HGV Technicians to join their team.
The fleet services delivers front line commercial/municipal collections of multiple waste streams utilising various transport options including RCV's, Roll on/Roll off and skip vehicles to customers in the East region.
We are looking for an experienced HGV Mechanic to join our client, based at a workshop in Morden. The core objective is to provide a full fleet maintenance solution to both the core operational services and the company's corporate clients. This role requires working days, including working alternate Saturday mornings. Your duties will include, repairs to all types of vehicles, plant and any other work to do with the service.
You will ensure that company uniform is worn at the commencement and throughout your period of duty. Special attention is to be paid to protective equipment used. You are also required to attend roadside breakdowns and perform any duties deemed necessary by your supervisor, ensuring that current standards are maintained, utilizing both internal and external resources
Candidates must possess a number of year's practical experience and be apprentice trained or have served as a mechanical fitter and hold a current driving license, preferable an LGV is desired but not essential. Efficiency in the following tasks; (Subject to an LGV Driver license qualification); Taking vehicles for M.O.T testing; Mechanical; Pneumatic; Welding; Hydraulics, is required.
The ideal person will be flexible and possess an enthusiastic approach to working in sometimes adverse conditions. You must be able to work on own initiative and you will be expected to supply your own comprehensive tool kit. The ability to ensure the delivery of high levels of customer service is also essential in this role. Good communication skills are essential for liaising with the customers and colleague and you must be prepared to attend internal and external training courses.
In return the company will offer a rate of GBP15.50 per hour plus overtime and benefits.
