Position: Automotive Stability Controls System Engineer Location: Basildon Essex, SS15 6EE Salary: 25,000 - 30,000 / 20 to 21 Per Hour The Company: Our client has a team of engineers working in automotive assemblyplants and engineering centres throughout Europe. They are looking for bright and enthusiastic candidates with experiencefrom the automotive industry to fill an Automotive Stability ControlsSystem Engineer position, based in Basildon, Essex. Candidates lookingfor both permanent or contract roles will be considered. The Automotive Stability Controls System Engineer Role: Function owner for Stability Control features; - Interface to all internal (Electrical, Powertrain, program managementetc.) and supplier activities for the development and deployment offeatures on forward model programs - Test planning, execution and reporting for feature developments andlead program application status - Documentation of "requirement met" evidence for StabilityControls features - Coordination of supplier and interfacing functions to drive issue resolution - To debug prototype vehicles, including issues with other controlsystems on test vehicles - To lead resolution of functional Stability Controls issues - To resolve queries arising from requirements analysis at the supplier - To develop and document local requirements for program specificfeatures and functions Skills Required: - Understanding of primary functions of anti-Lock brake, traction andstability control systems - Understanding of functional interfaces to a stability control system - Understanding of program deliverables with respect to a controlsystem / software - Understanding of automotive multiplex systems and distributed functions - Understanding of vehicle diagnostic and end-of line test requirements - Understanding of failure mode avoidance techniques - Ability to analyse vehicle control system specifications and developtest methods - Ability to develop and document control system solutions - Ability to debug vehicle control interfaces - Articulate in report writing - Willing to travel - Able to plan ahead - Persistent in driving issue resolution at suppliers and interfacing functions - Adaptable in overcoming practical issues to complete test plan Skills Preferred: - Vehicle evaluation - Understanding of Stability Control value added functions - Stability control or vehicle dynamics tuning experience - Limit handling driving permit Experience Required: - Experience of automotive product development cycle (ideally GPDS) - Experience of writing functional requirements, developing testmethods and test reporting - Experience of vehicle control system specifications and analysis thereof - Experience of measurement and analysis using CANalyzer or similar - Experience of vehicle de-bugging at electrical system level - Experience of vehicle diagnostic and SWDL tools (DET, GGHD or similar) - Minimum 3 years driving licence Experience Preferred: - Stability Controls system software or application - Vehicle Dynamics experience Education Required: - BEng (Hons) in Mechanical, Electrical or Automotive Engineering Whats Next?
