This role is working with Northamptonshire Police, in Northampton Town.

Examples of work performed in this role will include, but not be restricted to:

> Set inquest dates; liaise directly with the family of the deceased together with any relevant witnesses, offering suitable dates to establish their availability to attend. Explain the reason for the inquest and the process that will be followed.

> Organise jury's when required, specifically for Cases of deaths in the workplace and custody. Acquire a list or prospective jurors, send relevant paperwork and once returned, notify those selected and explain the process and what is required to those selected as jurors.

> Take referrals of sudden deaths and discuss with Doctors the medical history of deceased and if they are able to issue a cause of death. If a cause of death is established issue the correct paperwork for the Registrar.

> Liaise directly with Coroner/Deputy Coroner as required regarding legal procedures in certain deaths and the relevance to the inquest process.

> Liaise directly with bereaved families on the telephone or in person to ensure they are updated on proceedings.
