Research Associate ACAD103125
Bristol Medical School (THS)
GBP32,548 - GBP36,613 per annum
We are seeking a Research Associate to work with Professors. Richard Coward and Craig McArdle on insulin signalling in kidney cells. This is project funded by Kidney Research UK, in the context of diabetic kidney disease which is the leading cause of kidney failure in the world. The primary aim is to explore mechanisms of insulin signalling in kidney cells as wells their perturbation in disease.
We use a range of cellular and molecular models to interrogate insulin signalling and this project will focus on high content imaging (automated fluorescence microscopy) as well as mathematical modelling and statistical approaches to quantify information transfer via the insulin receptor to its effectors. This will inform bioassay development and compound screening to develop new therapies for this devastating complication of diabetes.
You are welcome to contact either Professor Coward on and/or Professor Craig McArdle on to arrange a visit and learn more about the position.
The University is committed to creating and sustaining a fully inclusive culture. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and communities.
