Scheduling Team Leader

Support Master Scheduler in the creation and monitoring of Manufacturing Production Schedules in a complex, high transaction volume environment.

Description

Support Master Scheduler in carrying out production control responsibilities.

Supervise and assist Production Scheduling Co-Ordinators, provide training and cover

Review and update stock part data forROP/ROQ and order policy requirements.

Review machine shop hours load, in order to judge against available capacity. Make decisions on whether to subcontract (PRM) manufactured parts in order that we maintain on time delivery of parts in order to fulfil customer orders.

(PRM = purchase requisition for manufactured part).

Review hours load for key machine tools and suggest schedule changes to ensure full workload where possible.

Provide information to Machine Shop manager on suggested overtime requirements by work-centre, backlog of hours, bottlenecks, schedule adherence analysis.

Attend Pre-Production meetings and report machine build BOM creation progress to Master Scheduler.

Profile

Excellent organisational and communication skills needed to coordinate work successfully.

Efficient and accurate use of MRP2 computer system and high degree of competency in Microsoft Office software applications. (Excel / Access / Word / Outlook). ODBC, Get & Transform - data analysis tools.

Analytic, looking for ways to improve processes and reports.

Monitoring and influencing manufacturing production schedules in a complex, high transaction volume environment. Some supervisory experience, evidencing an ability to coordinate, motivate and manage subordinate staff, ideally in a complex production or planning environment, would be an advantage.
