LOCATION: Consett near County Durham

JOB TITLE: Senior Quality Engineer

SALARY & BENEFITS: Competitive salary + Bonus + Pension +Life Assurance + Company Car

WORKING HOURS: Monday - Thursday 8am - 5pm & Friday 8am - 1pm (39 hours per week)

THE COMPANY: We are currently working with a global specialist in Electrical and Digital building infrastructures. They have been manufacturing in the UK since 1980 and today has three main competencies namely electronic, electrical and mechanical. A new permanent full time position has arisen for a Senior Quality Engineer to be based at the Consett site, close to County Durham.

THE ROLE: As a Senior Quality Engineer you manage, lead and coordinate activities relating to both the Quality Management system and the Quality Control of product manufactures within the Power Distribution, wiring Devices and Cable Management sites.

Key Responsibilities for the Senior Quality Engineer role to include:-

  • Manage and oversee all work relating to the UK Quality team
  • Manage and maintain the Company's quality inspection and product release programs for incoming and in-process materials and components, processes and finished goods
  • Responsible for the completion of internal ISO9001 Audits across all sites
  • Produce and communicate quality procedures to Shop Floor employees.
  • Provide training to Shop Floor employees when a change of quality takes effect/including new products
  • Monitoring performance by gathering relevant data and producing statistical reports, for the
  • reporting in the Monthly Manufacturing meeting
  • Co-ordination of Quality Control
  • Effectively interact with Production and Development teams to maintain product supply and help introduce new products

THE CANDIDATE: The successful candidate will need to have excellent Analytical skills and have a practical hands-on approach to problem solving. You will need to have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with all levels of staff, including external clients. Having a working knowledge of Microsoft Powerpoint, Excel and Word packages are required. Having an Electrical qualification would be an advantage, but isn't essential.

Key experience essential for the role of the Senior Quality Engineer:-

  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • A HNC in quality systems
  • Experience as a Quality Engineer
  • Electrical experience
  • Previous management experience
