Freezer Operative

Our client a family owned ice cream manufacturer based in Tamworth, who are a significant producer of both luxury and affordable ice creams.  Primarily supplying to foodservice wholesalers and cash and carries whose end users include pubs, restaurants, cafes, coffee shops, leisure operators and many more.  We are currently looking to add to our team of Freezer Operatives.

Hours of work: - Weekly shift pattern, 6am – 2pm and 2pm - finish

Rate of pay: £7.65 per hour

Location: Tamworth

Key responsibilities:

• To ensure products are stacked, wrapped and stock controlled, ready for storage and further transport
• Reporting of defective equipment and fabrication to Warehouse Manager or Section Leaders
• To assist and support the line leader in production start-up, product changeover and shut down processes
• To keep the production line supplied with pallets and labels
• To ensure that all data and records are maintained accurately
• To ensure basic food hygiene rules are obeyed at all time; maintaining good standards of general housekeeping and ensuring a clean and safe environment

The successful applicant:

• Will be energetic and committed to their own role and to the company
• Will be effective in both written and verbal expression
• Will preferably have freezer or cold store experience
• Will have experience working in a warehouse environment
• Be able to work reliably on their own following detailed written instructions
• Have a flexible attitude to carrying out varied tasks
• Previous knowledge of hygiene processes would be desirable but not essential
