Position: Permanent, Full Time

The company is currently seeking an Operations Manager with a strong background in food manufacturing. Reporting directly to the C the Operations Manager will be accountable for the complete manufacturing process from NDP to distribution with budgetary and P&L responsibility as well as defining strategies for the future.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a fast growing, innovative, high quality food manufacturing business. The company currently manufactures both branded and own label baked products for retail, wholesale and foodservice customers both in the UK and overseas.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to oversee all areas of operation with six direct reports and 115 staff across all departments. They must be a team player, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and will be able to influence others effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsibility for the operational team and day to day running of the business
  • Have a "hands-on" approach to every aspects of the business
  • Continue to drive a safe working environment by ensuring that all standards of the health and safety policy are adhered to
  • Support the introduction of new products and changing specifications into the business in line with the customer requirements
  • Ensure the highest quality and BRC standards throughout the business
  • Ensure product delivery is made to the customer on time and on spec every time
  • Analyse performance against KPI's, formulate and implement action plans for improvements
  • Develop enduring customer relationships both internally and externally

The successful candidate must have skills and experiences in the following areas:

  • A proven leader, with excellent people management skills and the ability to motivate and empower the workforce
  • Proven track record of achieving results and maintaining accreditations.
  • Commercial and business acumen
  • Proven experience of operating at board level or having had influence over board level decisions
  • A comprehensive understanding of modern manufacturing processes, including continuous improvement, New Product Development and Lean
  • Significant experience within a relevant sector with transferable knowledge of good practise and BRC standards
  • The ability to influence and lead a business through periods of growth and change
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and numerical capability
