Research Associate in Qualitative Health Services Research ACAD103123
Bristol Medical School (PHS)
GBP32,548 - GBP36,613 per annum (pro rata if part time)
We are seeking to appoint a talented and keen qualitative researcher to join the innovative QuinteT (Qualitative Research Integrated within Trials) research group led by Professor Jenny Donovan. Researchers in the QuinteT team undertake QuinteT Recruitment Interventions (QRIs), integrated in nationally funded randomised controlled trials (RCTs). QRIs aim to understand the reasons for recruitment difficulties, and then researchers will work with the study lead and management group to optimise recruitment and informed consent.
You will need proven skills in qualitative data collection, analysis and writing up. In particular, you will need experience and expertise in interviewing ('one to one' and in groups), observation, and techniques for qualitative data organisation and analysis. Knowledge, understanding, or previous experience of working on RCTs or other applied health research would be advantageous. You will also have opportunities to contribute to teaching and to develop their own research interests in collaboration with other staff members.
Research will be carried out in several clinical centres across the UK and the post holder will need to travel and work flexibly.
