Undertake all activities required to ensure receipt, movement, storage and issuing of materials both physically and systematically. Supply material into production enabling correct operational performance and maintaining quality and OTD.

General Role Requirements:

Receive goods from suppliers into the ‘Goods In’ area and ‘Book In’ using the ERP system (Glovia). In particular, identify materials and check against purchase orders and supplier contracts in accordance with the Materials Control procedure M003.
Despatch goods to appropriate locations, highlight each line of the delivery note to verify that the quantity was correct and the items were located via the GRN.
Perform machine kitting in accordance with the Kanban kitting calendar ensuring accurate delivery of all machine parts on time and to locations as required by the build process.
Carry out material movements between all warehouse locations when required ensuring all systematic transactions are completed.
Act promptly to deal with any shortage issues as necessary; liaise with purchasing to resolve establish time frame for action.
Escalate shortage and ordering issues to Production Team Leaders.
Support quality measures, performance criteria and reporting processes throughout the job holder’s responsibilities that support continuous improvement and a quality culture.
Undertake all work associated with the role in accordance with Health and Safety and Manual Handling Procedures.
Support customer orders as required.

Personal Requirements:

Demonstrate good knowledge and understanding of inventory management and the concept and application of lean strategies in supply chain management. This should include: Kanban, JIT, MRP/MPS, Inventory control and ERP systems.
Must possess a minimum of GCSE or equivalent level qualifications (grade A-C) in both English Language and Maths.
Must be computer literate and have basic working knowledge of Lotus Notes (or alternative e-mail based system), Microsoft Office and Glovia (or alternative ERP).
Good organisational skills, able to prioritise, evidence of track record of working on own initiative and achieving regular/routine tasks on time.
Able to respond quickly and effectively to changing priorities and schedules.
Able to build stable and useful working relationships.
