Job Description

Globally Engineering Consultancy are seeking to appoint the services of a Mechanical Associate Director to play a leading role within their highly successful London based Critical Services Team, who engaged in the design and delivery of major Datacentre developments across the European Theatre for some of the World's best-known Internet firms. Their present portfolio starches across the UK, Ireland, Scandinavia and Europe incorporating re-developments of existing major datacentres and leading the design for new build datacentres (over 40 MW in size). The post offers the successful Mechanical Associate Director the opportunity for progression into a full director position and long-term career prospects within one of the World's foremost Engineering Consultants.

Reporting directly into the Divisional Director the successful Mechanical Associate Director will take the lead Mechanical role within the business unit, with exposure during the whole project lifecycle. Overall duties will incorporate the following;

  • Working within the Senior Management Team,
  • Leading the engagement with clients and contractors with relation to the HVAC elements of projects
  • Assist in the development of feasibility studies,
  • Developing conceptual design for mechanical critical cooling schemes
  • Leadership of the HVAC Design Engineering Team,
  • Supervise the completion of design HVAC design solutions for datacentre developments including critical cooling systems,
  • Oversee the production of detailed equipment schedules in-line with HVAC design solutions,
  • Lead the sustainability considerations for allocated projects,
  • Take a leadership role in the training and development of engineers within your team,

The position suits a Chartered Mechanical Engineer who possess in-depth technical excellence in the design and development of HVAC solutions on major projects. You will have gained exposure on technically challenging projects within some form of critical environment (data centre, healthcare, pharmaceutical, industrial, energy), and be able to demonstrate technical knowledge in critical / major cooling system design.
