This opportunity looks to recruit an individual experienced in producing costings. To guide and manage a team with a focus on right first time and service excellence to the wider needs of the business. Monitoring the effects of purchase variances, the accuracy of details relayed throughout the business and systems are maintained.

Costings Manager - The Job Outline

  • Mentor and develop the team to build a strong positive team spirit and offer service excellence within the Business.
  • Communicate to the Business on new Tenders potential cost saving opportunities/routes.
  • Direct and guide the Costing team on appropriate manufacturing routes following guidance from the Sourcing Manager/Sourcing Director.
  • Liaise with the Sourcing team to manage internal expectations, requirements and priorities.
  • Maintain and ensure the team maintain appropriate records on our business systems following the appropriate ISO standards.
  • Attend project meetings or to delegate a member of the team to attend project meetings, ensuring a regime of follow up actions and minutes are established.
  • To recognise the need for a project meeting and to arrange and chair meetings when necessary.
  • Establish appropriate KPI's to monitor the effectiveness of the Department.
  • Undertake various supplier commercial negotiations as maybe necessary.
  • Work to develop the PLM costing module.

Costings Manager - The Person Specification

  • Experience in costing products and building costs to a landed price including duty regimes. Knowledge of the fashion / textiles industry would be an advantage.
  • Confident verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience of working closely with Far Eastern factories. Ability to understand and advise the business on the choice of factory for production based on an assessment of its capability, equipment, skills and quality standards
  • Experience in communicating effectively with an international supplier base
  • Experience in detailed supplier negotiations
  • Line Management experience demonstrating strong communication skills and the ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Problem-solving skills and decision-making ability.
  • Highly competent IT skills, particularly Excel and ideally a working knowledge of PLM/PDM or similar.
