My client secondary school, located in Telford, are currently looking to recruit an English Language or English Literature Graduate to join them as an English Teaching Assistant. This is a full time, term time position that will start at the beginning of September and run for the full academic year.

As an English Teaching Assistant, you will be working in the school's English department alongside some excellent teaching staff. You will be tasked with supporting these English teachers and their pupils. You will be spread across different year groups depending on the demands of the department. The school require candidates to assist in raising the competency and attainment levels of pupils learning English as well as supporting GCSE and A Level pupils. Supporting pupils of different learning requirements will ensure you have innovative methods to aid learning that will stand you in excellent stead for a further career in teaching.

As the role of an English Teaching Assistant the school are wishing to look at the best way to utilise the skills and knowledge of the individual to the best fit for their pupils.

As with all English Teaching Assistant roles the demands placed on candidates are wide and varied. One day is seldom similar to the next or the previous. At times, you may be expected to work one-on-one with a pupil who may have specific barriers to learning. At other times, you could be expected to break off from the main class with a small group of high achieving students that require work of a more challenging nature.

If you're motivated, passionate about becoming an English teacher in the future and are dedicated to developing young minds then my client school would like to see your CV. Please don't hesitate in emailing a copy to Mia at Edustaff today.
