Travelodge has an exciting opportunity for a Hotel Manager to join the team based in Wheatley. You will be on a full time permanent basis and receive a competitive salary of up to £23,500 per annum.
The job in a nutshell
Travelodge Oxford Wheatley is a 36 bedroom hotel located just 2 miles from the beautiful village of Wheatley, offering plenty of opportunity to explore the surrounding landscapes which include Waterperry Gardens and Shotover Country Park, both less than 5 miles away. Transport is available from Oxford train station (10 miles) and those looking to spread their wings further can find a host of connections from Heathrow Airport (37 miles).
The city of Oxford, famous for its church spires and wonderful University buildings, is just 7 miles away. Blenheim Palace, the ancestral home of Winston Churchill, is a real treasure to explore or you can enjoy a leisurely punt along the river in Oxford.

As a Hotel Manager your job is to make sure that our customers and colleagues are kept safe at all times. Our Hotel Managers ensure that our customers have such a great stay that they want to return. What you’ll be doing as our Hotel Manager
My Customers
- Delivering fantastic service so customers have a great stay and want to return
- Review customer feedback and insight reports to create action plans that will improve the customer experience
- Pre-empting any problems that may occur and put permanent fixes in place
- When problems do occur take ownership to resolve problems and empower the team to do the same
- Ensuring the hotel is safe and secure putting the health and safety of colleagues and customers at the forefront of what you do
My Team
- Operating your hotel in a way that promotes equality, diversity and inclusion
- Recruiting and inducting team members to provide new starters with a great experience and setting them up for success
- Training and developing your team to make sure that there are always talented individuals ready to fill key roles
- Creating rotas in accordance with company procedure, flexing your resources in line with occupancy when required to do so
- Attending and contributing constructively at monthly District meetings
- Role model and support your team by working regular shifts across all departments during peak trading times
My Hotel
- Managing all costs within budget in particular payroll, laundry and key operational costs
- Inputting forecast and target payroll hours into the people system and ensuring that rotas are planned and communicated effectively
- Raising with the District Manager when further equipment of expenditure is required above budgeted costs
- Walking the customer journey twice a day, taking action to resolve issues where necessary
- Making sure your team follow and comply standard work and processes across all areas of the hotel
- Support other hotels within reasonable proximity when required

To succeed in this role, you will need to be a strong leader and passionate about customer service. Engaging and developing people to deliver results should come naturally and you will need to be dedicated, organised and results focussed to succeed in this role.
You will need to demonstrate a hands on approach and be comfortable finding solutions to make sure your customer and team have a great experience in your hotel. You will be resourceful, a natural self starter who is able to demonstrate resilience and confidence in all that you do.
