Floating Family Support Workers

£23,428 – £30,448 pa

Full Time, Permanent

We are looking for two Floating Family Support Workers (Project Worker 2) for our Children and Family Centre Targeted Family Support Services in Gloucestershire; one to join the Gloucester City team (Ref: MSW1056) and one to join the Forest and Stroud team (Ref: MSW1057).

These are unique posts to each of the Barnardo's Children and Family Centre localities and would provide an exciting opportunity for individuals who like variety. We have two full time permanent contracts available (37.5 hours each). The role will involve reporting directly to one of the Team Managers for the region, travelling across the Gloucester City Locality or the Forest and Stroud Locality and Gloucestershire. You will work in the Targeted Family Support Service, primarily engaged in the management of cases at point of referral until the cases can be allocated to a long-term Family Support Worker. You will also cover staffing gaps e.g. for sick leave, maternity leave etc. This will increase casework capacity at times of high demand.

You will need to be flexible as you will work in a range of Children and Family Centres across the Forest and Stroud districts and/or Gloucester City, responding to urgent need. A large proportion of your work will be subject to the referrals received and caseloads of Family Support Workers at any given time, but there may also be work that can be planned in advance such as practice observations and case file auditing. You will need to be a driver for this role; mileage expenses are payable.

Hours: Mon-Fri with some 'out of core hours' working e.g. no more than two evenings/early mornings per week and no more than one Saturday/ Sunday per month.

For further information and to apply, please click on the apply button and search for the relevant job reference (Gloucester City ref: MSW1056 / Forest and Stroud ref: MSW1057).

Closing date: 12 February 2018.

Interviews: 26 February 2018 and 2 March 2018.
