Would you like the opportunity to work in an exciting, different and challenging role within the Public Sector? We are looking for multi skilled individuals to work in a fast paced role within the Home Office, Sheffield. This is easily commutable in the South Yorkshire area (Sheffield, Barnsley, Rotherham, Doncaster, etc.)

Please note: These roles are due to commence in March 2018 due to the vetting process.

You will be required to work between various departments within the organisation to fully understand the day to day workings as the role can be extremely varied from day to day.

Some of the duties may include:

  • Using the software tools in order to see which checks are required for each application.
  • Ensuring that when physical applications arrive in the office that they are linked to the correct database with the correct unique reference number.
  • Making sure that the decisions on cases together with passports and supporting documents are safely and securely returned to the applicant via the approved courier.
  • Preparing applications e. checking all personal details and documents are correct.
  • Interviewing overseas students via videolink or telephone following an interview template and writing up the interview transcript.
  • Identifying cases that are not as straightforward as appeared on initial rating and forwarding these onto the relevant staff.
  • Post duties - linking physical correspondance to the appropriate case and ensuring it is properly recorded and passed onto the relevant part of the office for action.
  • Manual checks - checking the personal details of an applicant against the Warnings Indec and printing off reports where adverse information is found.
  • Transferring local alert information from a spreadsheet onto the appropriate records.
  • Taking the appropriate action to refund Immigration Health Surcharges in unsuccessful applications.
  • Entry Clearance ammendments - rectifying errors that have been made on visa documentation.
  • Making further enquiries and requesting information for application evidence.

You will need to have excellent administrations skills, a super keen eye for detail and be process driven.

We ask that you have a flexible approach to work and are adaptable. Our client is all about up skilling people and full training will be provided.

You'll be required to attend an assessment centre for these roles, and will need to provide a full 3 years reference history without gaps - any gaps need to be covered.

You'll need a current VALID passport for this role and will be required to undertake a full and extensive background check. We also require 2 recent proof of address documents for this role and proof of your NI.
