Infrastructure Team Member - 1st/2nd Line Support

This IT solutions company is looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our team in Witham. Hours between 8am-4 and 9am-5. Although mostly an in-house role, there may be an element of travel to support the 6 sites we cover, therefore a full, clean driving license is required.

A typical day is usually rather varied, but a core part of what they do is 1st and 2nd line resolution of customer problems that can range from resetting a password to setting up a Windows or Linux server. There are often projects that will get undertaken within house such as office moves; hardware upgrades; desktop refreshing and trialling new hardware or new server applications. Because we are a small team, we cover a wide range of services and skills, so the role will be rather a mixed bag but with a focus on 1st/2nd line work.

The successful candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
- Desktop and server support skills in Windows and Linux. MacOS knowledge would be useful
- Windows Server 2003/2008/2012/2016; Linux Server and Terminal Server skills
- Microsoft Exchange
- Active Directory in a mid-size configuration
- DHCP, DNS, and familiarity with wireless networks and networking. Strong IP skills an advantage
- Good understanding of common desktop applications (Word, Excel) to assist users over the phone or via desk visits
- Good problem solving and diagnosis skills
- Excellent communication and solid customer support skills as you will be providing support to users at all levels including Directors
- Full, clean driving license

Although not essential, these skills and experience would be desirable:
- We make heavy use of Citrix Xen Server so anyone with previous experience would be preferred.
- Previous exposure to logistics or freight forwarding would be a major advantage as the team operates from our customer's premises in Witham, Essex (a well-established freight forwarder)
- SQL Server
