The Company and the Role:
The Company is an award winning family owned gastro pub chain operating 8 sites in the South East. They are currently seeking an experienced Head Chef for one of their award winning venues near Gravesend, Kent. The position is permanent.
The Company looking for a committed, dedicated and experienced Head Chef with a passion for good food that is ready to continue developing the brand values and excellence in an award-winning venue.
You will be the figure head and talisman for the back of house team. Leading by example and embodying everything that a Great British Gastro Pub should be, from a warm welcoming and relaxed atmosphere, to well cooked food that offers a Dining Sensation.
Established in 2003 the Company is offering a salary up to GBP35K + tips, bonus and benefits including a pension scheme, staff loyalty scheme after 3 months, Uniform / Chefs Whites and Childcare Vouchers.
Key Features of the Role:
All food is prepared in house using fresh ingredients and local suppliers wherever possible.
You will be expected to create, develop and set the highest standards of food quality and consistency, which the team should aspire to and follow.
You will be a great team player, manager and leader, with good organisational and communication skills.
The ability to thrive in a very busy environment, to an award winning pub standard.
Enhancing the Company's reputation for consistently preparing cooking and presenting dishes to the right quality and second to none.
Knowledge and Skills:
You should be an accomplished Head Chef ideally with experience of working in a fresh food kitchen at a similar level. You will need your own transport to get to the venue.
Your practical experience should ideally be supported by some form of catering qualification.
Alternatively, the Company is supportive to the ex-military community, they welcome applications from Chefs at all levels who are either about to leave the Armed Forces or who have trained and served as a Chef in the Armed Forces.
Previous experience in a similar role requiring a broad food knowledge and precise attention to detail is essential.
You should possess ambition and personable communication skills to promote teamwork and to continually push the business forward.
What's on Offer:
Basic salary will be in the region of GBP26K - GBP35K per annum plus tips (which will be worth around GBP80 per week). In addition, there is a monthly bonus scheme.
Other benefits include a pension scheme, staff loyalty Scheme after 3 months, Uniform / Chefs Whites and Childcare Vouchers.
Standard working week is 45 hours working 5 shifts a week.
