We are seeking a Building Information Modelling (BIM) Manager to align the delivery of all the 3D models on a major framework contract within the water / wastewater industry.



CH2M is in a Joint Venture with Volker Stevin (the Joint Venture is known as C2V+) that has been successful in securing one of the Construction Delivery Partner (CDP) positions with United Utilities. The CDPs are a key element to United Utilities strategy for the delivery of their AMP6 investment plan and for fulfilling their commitment to provide class leading service to their customers.



United Utilities is one of the largest water and sewerage companies in England; both in terms of population and geographical spread. As a result, C2V+ is getting the opportunity to deliver a varied portfolio of work that encompasses Water and Wastewater treatment plant upgrades and improvement works to both the wastewater collection and potable water distribution systems.



The capital value of the delivery projects covers a wide range; some are in the GBP40m+ bracket through to those at around GBP1m.



The C2V+ BIM Manager, will be expected to align the delivery of all the 3D models within the JV in accordance with the Framework Requirements, they will review and implement the BIM strategy and liaise with United Utilities BIM Technical Leadership Group. They will manage the interface between UU and CH ProjectWise and work with the Project Information Manager, Document Controllers and delivery teams and be responsible for monitoring and recording adoption of BIM processes and any resulting project improvements.



Key responsibilities of this role:

• Providing Building Information Modelling (BIM) leadership and advice

• Ensuring that the information requirements are communicated by the BIM Execution Plan (BEP) and delivered by the project outputs

• Work with the BIM leads from the supply chain and identify and recommend BIM uses to benefit each organisation

• Establish and maintain the Common Data Environment (CDE) requirements across C2V+ for both the design, procurement and construction stages of the projects

• Work with technical specialists to maximise the efficiency of the project team and support the achievement of project goals through the use of information technology tools and workflows

• Work with the Procurement Team to determine supply chain capability and how to integrate the supply chain models into the overall project model



The minimum qualifications for this position are:

Candidates will be Degree qualified and have a demonstratable understanding of UK BIM requirements. You will have worked on large scale multi-disciplinary projects, preferably water industry projects in the UK and have good understanding of Microstation, or other design authoring tools such as AutoCAD, some use of design collaboration systems (ProjectWise, Business Collaborator, Sharepoint, Workspace etc).



The ideal candidate will have experience of BIM implementation on water industry projects, either for a particular discipline or task team, or at a project wide level, an understanding United Utilities approach to BIM and how that relates to its portfolio of projects.



You will be comfortable driving intelligent design authoring tools; Microstation OpenPlant Modeller and P&ID, Inroads, AECOsim, as well as Revit, Civil 3D and AutoCAd and work in customising Common Data Environments such as ProjectWise, Business collaborator, Sharepoint etc.
