The role will be based at Headquarters in Llantarnam and you will be leading a small team that provides the performance information to support the business in its decision making. This role is vitally important to the business to ensure it has accurate and comprehensive data to drive top performance across all service areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The Business Intelligence Manager works with Head of Corporate Services and the Business Improvement Partner providing the organisation with challenge and support, identifying areas for improvement, supporting business planning and delivering activities designed to improve services, outcomes for customers and value for money
  • Lead, drive and manage the organisation's Business Intelligence team, ensuring that information and data relating to business planning and delivery, performance frameworks and performance reporting, business intelligence and analytics, business as usual reports and all other corporate information as required by the organisation's stakeholders is provided and delivered in line with identified corporate priorities to continuously improve services
  • Develop, lead, drive and deliver a Business Intelligence strategy that enables the organisation to measure itself against its corporate priorities, desired outcomes and other objectives. Provide strategic performance indicators to Board and the Strategic Management Team to demonstrate progress against targets and benchmarked information. Demonstrate the impact of current trends on the forecasted position and emerging risks
  • Lead on researching, evaluating and identifying best practices, developing business cases, working collaboratively with the organisation's heads of service and senior management teams to ensure the availability of accurate and reliable business information capable of driving improvements and determining business decisions
  • Lead the effective delivery of robust benchmarking statistics with House mark and BARCUD group that allow the organisation to evaluate its performance in terms of its peers; evaluate and report to senior management the respective merits and disadvantages of various benchmarking service providers in accordance with ensuring the organisation has the information it needs to effectively monitor its performance in line with its targets
  • Lead the Business Intelligence Team in ensuring that Value for Money and continuous improvement is considered in reports and analysis. Work collaboratively with the Business Improvement Officer to support Heads of Service and Senior Management Team to provide business intelligence that results in efficiencies and improved effectiveness of service areas

Key Requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in management information, information management, computer science, statistics or equivalent scientific bias
  • Extensive knowledge of Management Information and performance information systems, frameworks and benchmarking systems. Extensive knowledge and understanding of the evaluation and application of such systems
  • Extensive knowledge of data modelling, relational database theory and practice, data warehousing and analytical techniques and tools. Strong knowledge of statistical techniques such as regression analysis
  • At least 3 Years demonstrable experience in delivering Management and Business Information, Performance Information, frameworks and benchmarking analyses
  • Demonstrable experience of achievement in a management role in planning and implementing complex information systems strategies and programmes with effective outcomes
  • Ability to interpret and analyse business requirements and use to plan and implement strategies and programmes for management information systems and processes that collect and report effectively against the given requirements
