Eastman produces a range of advanced materials, additives, specialty chemicals, and fibres that are found in products people use every day. We currently have vacancies for two mechanical maintenance technicians.

The Positions
Reporting to the Newport site Maintenance Manager you will support the site maintenance effort carrying out typical maintenance activities including repair and inspection of pumps, vessels, rotating equipment, pipe breaking and pipe fitting. You will utilize machine shop skills such as lathes, drills, milling equipment, cutting and welding in your daily activities.

The person
You will have achieved a time served qualification (i.e. an apprenticeship) in a relevant discipline and you will be safety conscious. The ideal candidate will have a flexible approach with regard to changing priorities in a busy work environment and be capable of working alone, under you own initiative, or effectively as part of a team. A good knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, lined equipment, pumps and relief valves would be an advantage so too would the ability to perform critical tasks within specified time constraints and schedules. You are fluent in English, have a good working knowledge of SAP and MS Word/Excel.
