This companies branch at the Disablement Services Centre, James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough, is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Prosthetist to join their small team of Prosthetists and technicians. The centre is at the foot of the Cleveland hills and has easy access to the North Yorkshire moors and north east coast line, larger cities Newcastle and York are within 60 minutes.

The successful candidate will be a team player expected to undertake a full and active role in contributing to service development. There will be opportunities for further personal and service development through clinical audit and research. Training and mentoring will be provided.

Ideally they are looking for an experienced Prosthetist with proven experience of managing a complex case load. Upper limb experience would be an advantage but not essential as training will be provided.

Duties include:
- Working within a multidisciplinary team and take a lead role in prescription by assessing the prosthetic needs of patients
- Taking, preparing and rectifying patient's plaster casts, and other data capture techniques to enable the production a well-fitting socket
- Clinical and technical administration
- Liaison with the other team members, providing clear, concise instructions, directly highlighting any non-standard requests to assist in the manufacture of limbs
- Goal setting and recording of outcome measures
- Maintaining patient confidentiality and adherence with the Data Protection Act

Skills and experience required:
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ideally 2 years post graduate experience
- Commitment to undertake clinical development actives

Applicants should have an honours degree (or equivalent) in Prosthetics and Orthotics and be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). They should preferably be members of BAPO.
