A Fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Operations Manager to join a successful work based training provider located in Bicester, North Oxfordshire. Its success and reputation built on delivering high quality engineering apprenticeships and training to employers across the Thames Valley and South East. The successful candidate will earn a salary of £45,000 - £50,000 per annum depending on experience.

To support the companies continued success and growth an experienced Operations Manager is now required. Reporting to the Chief Executive the successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of Training Officers delivering engineering apprenticeships and training. As an Operations Manager, you will also have a key role in the introduction of new standards and delivery models, overseeing the implementation of the new MIS system and managing the resultant changes.

Additional duties will include, but not be limited to:

  • To promote the services of the company enabling it to achieve its delivery and business objectives
  • Provide business development support to the Chief Executive and the wider team in respect of new and existing business opportunities
  • To develop and maintain good relations with employers, employees and learners ensuring their individual and collective training objectives are achieved
  • Day to day Management of the Training Officer team including (but not restricted to) candidate assignment/workloads, diary/delivery confirmation, progress review meetings and team standardisation training
  • Contribute to and attend team and training officer meetings to update team members on learner progress, identifying any areas of concern and action being taken to resolve
To be considered for the Operations Managers position, you must have the drive and enthusiasm to be successful.  Come from a broad engineering background and a minimum of 5 years’ industrial experience, of which at least 2 years must have been in a supervisory position. In addition, the following key skills and experience is desirable.
  • A level 4 HNC in an engineering discipline (or equivalent)
  • Supervisory or management training
  • Apprenticeship delivery/assessment experience
  • Experience of operating in commercial environment
