The role is fixed-term to December 2018, with possible extension to December 2020.

Challenging, interesting and constantly changing, the University of Derby is an extraordinary place to learn and an incredibly rewarding place to work.

We require an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the DANCOP (Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Collaborative Outreach Programme) team as part of the HEFCE funded National Collaborative Outreach Programme (NCOP).

NCOP aims to identify and address issues around progression into Higher Education. In particular, it seeks to undertake outreach activity in specific local areas where HE participation is low overall and lower than expected given GCSE attainment levels.

The DANCOP Partnerships Manager role is primarily to manage the effective operational development and delivery of projects, programmes, services and activities delivered by third party providers that support the Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Collaborative Outreach Programme (DANCOP), as directed by the Project Manager.

With strong project management, negotiation and organisational skills, you will be experienced in building and managing relationships with external organisations. Ideally with experience of working in the education sector, you will be required to work closely with the organisations to ensure that activity or services are running on time, on budget and having the impact we expect; problem solving and influencing stakeholders where necessary. You can expect to be managing contracts with around twelve organisations, with contract values totalling over £1million.

The successful candidate will have the following skills -

  • Ability to work well independently to prioritise workload and balance working with several different organisations at once
  • Excellent communication skills and an ability to interact with a wide range of people.
  • Strong project management, negotiation and organisational skills
  • Ability to manage relationships effectively to ensure delivery and budget targets are met
  • Provide advice and support both to third parties and also to DANCOP on performance.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expect everyone who works for us to also share this commitment and to treat people with courtesy and respect.
