About the role
We are looking for a well-motivated person to join our team who can provide advocacy support to people living with dementia. The successful candidate will need to have an understanding of the principles of advocacy and be able to represent the views, feelings, values and beliefs of the person living with dementia whilst ensuring that their rights are protected. You will be required to make regular visits to the person living with dementia whilst they are living in a care home or hospital setting and support them to understand and to exercise their rights afforded to them in line with the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguarding Legislation.
Excellent communication skills are a must, you will need to possess a Diploma in Health & Social Care (Adults) – Learning disability, Dementia & General Pathways (previously NVQ level 3) and /or Social Care or equivalent qualification or experience, and have or willing to work towards the National Advocacy Qualification. We are looking for someone with the right mix of enthusiasm, professionalism and someone who can manage their time effectively is a must.
