Applications are invited for the post of Building Projects Manager within Building and Estate Services at the Department of Engineering's main site in Trumpington Street.

Building and Estate Services supports the estate and facility infrastructure of the Department from the strategic to the operational and covers property management, capital projects, maintenance, environmental sustainability, safety, security, cleaning and catering. The aim is to provide a co-ordinated and customer-oriented approach to developing, maintaining and adapting the Department's estate and a wide range of support services to create an environment that underpins the Department's academic mission.

The role-holder will lead and oversee minor works building and refurbishment projects on behalf of the Department's Building and Estates office in order to support the effective operation of departmental activities. Reporting to the Head of Building and Estate Services, the role-holder will ensure that each project is effectively planned, managed and co-ordinated between the Department, other relevant parts of the University and external consultants and contractors.

You will be educated to degree level or have an equivalent level of practical experience with excellent organisational and project management skills. A sound knowledge and understanding of buildings and building services is essential, together with advanced IT skills, as well as excellent oral and written communication skills. Experience of working in a higher education environment would be desirable.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 3 years in the first instance.
