Service & Workshop Manager to join an aftermarket services business in Lincoln.
Your new company
You will be joining a business that has decades of experience in the engineering industry, an OEM in its own right as well as providing aftermarket services covering overhaul, reconditioning and refurbishment of a range of industrial engines for use across marine and rail applications globally. The company is entering an exciting period of growth and investment and looking to appoint a number of key roles into the engineering facility based in Lincoln.
Your new role
You will be joining the senior management team as the Service and Workshop Manager, where you will take full responsibility for the field service, overhaul and workshop activities of the business. Your day to day role will involve the management of all staff members within the function covering motivation, training and performance management. This will include controlling and planning of workloads and ensuring adherence to Health and Safety at all times both in the workshop and the field. You will also oversee the workshop area with regard to the machinery, ensuring that all is properly maintained and calibrated.
Commercially you will ensure that the function is meeting its objectives, operating profitably and that customers are receiving the quality of work that they expect.
What you'll need to succeed
The role of Service and Workshop Manager will suit a time served engineer, ideally with ONC/HNC or higher qualification. You will possess an in-depth knowledge of the service and repair of commercial gas or diesel engines / rotating equipment. You will also be able to demonstrate strong management skills with the ability to lead people, improve processes and manage change. You will be sufficiently commercially aware to ensure that the service function operates profitably.
