Commercial Mortgage Underwriting

Shawbrook Bank are currently recruiting a Lending Manager to join an established commercial lending business in our Brentwood Head Office. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic property finance underwriter/lending manager to join an established specialist lender. As a Lending Manager you will be responsible for underwriting commercial mortgage applications in line with company lending policy, managing the application through to completion.

Key responsibilities of the Lending Manager will include the following:

• Adopting a pragmatic approach to underwriting commercial mortgage applications.
• Understand and analyse key items such as credit searches, bank statements, financial accounts, property valuations and business appraisals to make informed lending decisions.
• Build successful working relationships with external contacts such as brokers, customers, surveyors and solicitors.
• Effectively manage a large pipeline of cases through to completion, ensuring both company service standards and the lending policy is complied throughout.

Suitable candidates will be have a strong understanding of the commercial mortgage sector, including having achieved and maintained a lending mandate. Strong knowledge and understanding of legal conveyancing would be highly advantageous. This is an excellent development opportunity for candidates looking to further their underwriting careers.
