As one of the largest occupational charities in the UK, our client offers help and advice to current, former and retired Civil Servants across the UK.
They are looking for two Help and Advice Officers to deal with enquiries and analyse applications from people who come to them for help via email, webchat, phone or letter.
Help and Advice Officer
Full time | Permanent
Salary: c. £24k pa
Based: Cheam, Surrey
You will provide advice and information about the charity’s services, and identify areas of support available from the charity or other organisations.
You will also be responsible for writing structured documents to support areas of need, for example Carers’ Passports and Carers’ Statements, to help people communicate their needs and seek solutions in the workplace or with health and social care professionals.
Key Skills required for the role:
- Excellent communication skills orally and in writing, including handling difficult conversations with vulnerable people;
- Able to identify key issues from complex information;
- Able to gather relevant information in a compassionate and non-judgemental way;
- Work effectively in a team;
- Accurate, with good attention to detail;
- Computer literate;
- Understanding of the application of Data Protection principles in daily work;
- Self-motivated and proactive - able to manage tasks with minimum supervision.
