Based in Stoke on Trent with easy transport links to the North West, West Midlands and East Midlands, Stoke on Trent College is the largest provider of further education in Stoke and North Staffordshire, with around 10,000 students each year on full-time and part-time study programmes, apprenticeships, professional qualifications and university-level courses. We also help thousands of local people each year to gain the basic skills needed for work, be it English and maths, employability skills or specific work-related qualifications. Our students routinely win awards in regional and national competitions and the challenge helps to unleash their talent and prepare them for the competitive world of employment.

Working with the Careers Coordinator (the designated contact for looked after children) and other college staff to support a group of vulnerable learners in college, you will provide administrative assistance to a high standard, ensuring smooth communication with internal and external professionals. With strong IT skills and ability to organise meetings, you will contribute to the tracking and reporting of our young learners in care/care leavers and support their retention and achievement.

Located in the Careers team, and with links to the Mentor, Student Assistance and teaching teams, you will be a problem solver who can work to professional standards and you will have understanding of this vulnerable group in addition to an awareness of the college’s requirements.
