What do you value in a modern Production Manager? People centred collaboration where targeted skill development brings out the best in a team? The ability to paint a picture of what efficient, lean manufacturing looks like?
Do you have that raw leadership talent that can nurture your team to deliver great results? Is your career on an upward curve and ready to be further developed and challenged through being a champion of change, enhancing staff development, identifying quality improvements and driving the business for success?
This exciting opportunity for a dynamic Production Manager / Value Stream Manager is to raise performance levels using a flexible management style, demonstrating your natural leadership ability. This will allow your team members the opportunity to develop through an "asking the question and engage" management approach though you will also understand when a "tell and direct" style arises as each situation and everyone is different.
The expectations for this Production Management role:
• Looking after nearly 60 staff in a complex electro-mechanical assembly environment where either small batch or single piece units are built, you will fully understand the mechanisms of production
• Through 3 Production Supervisors, their team leaders and a mixed ability range of assemblers producing over 300 different items, you'll be someone who can identify talented people and develop them through delivering training needs
• You will have the ability to illustrate a clear vision for future direction, the skill to modernise processes and develop strong lean manufacturing techniques in more depth e.g. 5S, value stream mapping, JIT, 7 Wastes, non-value added work, standardisation and minimisation of variants
Your background and experience should include:
• Degree qualified (or equivalent) with a sound understanding of the technical side of high-tech electromechanical engineering assembly and production management i.e. BOM's, SOP's KPI's etc
• The ability to champion change management with initiative and drive yet able to step back and reflect on what works and what doesn't - showing real leadership qualities with gravitas
• Lean manufacturing experience where process developments become fully integrated into the working philosophy and day-to-day actions
• Outstanding communication skills will be supported with experience of MRP systems, the ability to challenge the status quo and then provide creative solutions and a visionary strategy to achieve success
If you have the potential to fulfil this special opportunity with your innate and demonstrable talents then we are actively interviewing and ready to hire immediately for this international client with an enviable growth record. Please contact Deborah on | (Apply online only)
