Pilgrim Primary Academy is an outstanding primary school located in the heart of the city, within a new school building which was opened in September 2015. We are currently expanding to 2 form entry (fully completed by September 2019). We wish to appoint an experienced senior leader to this key role who will contribute to strategic direction and lead our Upper Phase team. In addition, the ability to lead Assessment and/or Safeguarding through school would be an advantage.  We are seeking an energetic and practical leader who has high expectations and can inspire and lead others with sensitivity and humour.  Initially, this position is likely to be non-class based but some teaching commitment will be expected from September 2018.

You should be

  • Able to demonstrate your successful leadership in school improvement
  • Able to work positively in a wider team and to promote effective teamworking in others
  • Approachable and having effective communication skills
  • Experienced in monitoring the effectiveness of teaching on the outcomes for learning
  • Able to manage the performance of others, including having the skills to coach and mentor colleagues
  • Experienced in teaching in KS2, preferably in Years 4, 5 or 6
  • An outstanding teacher with expert knowledge of KS2 practices and curriculum
  • Committed to inclusion and raising standards for all learners and dedicated to promoting parental and community involvement
